Office Professional 2010 Beta!
Windows has opened up Free download beta versions of the new Office suite 2010 this preview is using Microsofts new “streaming” download technology. The beta version includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and One note. Microsoft so far has not set a price for the new edition.
I have not been able to really put 2010 to the test but i did post a few screen shots below. The download/install was painless and the installation did not interrupt my Microsoft 2007 installation. The beta was installed on windows 7 and was up and running in less then 5 minutes. This is due to the Click-To-Run system that streams pieces of the suite to the users computer allowing them to be up and running in no time.
You can find the link to download the new beta here.
Below is a screen shot of the new “Ribbon”

The changes are very minimal, but the one noticeable difference is the big round button in the left hand corner. This has been replaced with the word “File” button.
After clicking the new “File” button you are presented with this new menu below is the screen shot.

I will be diving further into office 2010 and providing tutorials in future post.
